Our story

Why halftone
The screen that printed the world
For a hundred years, almost every photograph anyone saw in a newspaper, a magazine or a book arrived as a halftone: a field of dots, large where the image is dark and small where it is light. Look closely and you see the machine. Step back and you see the face.
We think that is the most honest way to wear a masterpiece. Not a glossy copy pretending to be a painting, but a print that admits it is a print, tuned plate by plate until the dots carry the light.
“The classics belong to everyone. We simply print them as if they mattered.”The Corduroy Crow

Why museums
Masterpieces in the public domain
Every plate starts from a work in a museum’s open-access collection: Roman marbles, Japanese woodblock prints, botanical engravings and early photographs of the Moon, photographed by the museums themselves and released to the public under CC0.
Our first collection comes from The Cleveland Museum of Art, one of the most generous open-access collections in the world. Each piece carries its credit, so you always know what you are wearing and where to go and see it.

Why printed to order
Nothing is made until you order it
We do not keep warehouses of shirts in sizes nobody buys. Each piece is printed for you by our partner workshops in the EU, directly into premium cotton with water-based inks, and shipped in two to five working days.
It means less waste, fresher prints and free delivery to every country in the European Union.
