Questions
What exactly is a halftone?
A way of printing an image as a grid of dots of different sizes: large dots where the picture is dark, small ones where it is light. It is how photographs were printed in newspapers and books for most of the twentieth century. Up close you see the pattern; from a few steps away you see the picture.
Are the artworks really free to use?
Yes. Every plate comes from a public-domain work in a museum’s open-access collection, photographed by the museum and released under CC0. Our first collection comes from The Cleveland Museum of Art. Each product page names the original work and where it is kept.
Where are the pieces made?
Every order is printed for you by our partner workshops in the European Union, directly into the cotton with water-based inks, then shipped from there to you.
How long will my order take?
Printing takes 2–5 working days and delivery usually 2–6 working days more. See shipping & delivery.
Do you deliver outside the EU?
Not yet. We currently deliver to the 27 EU member states, free of charge.
Can I return something?
Yes. You have 14 days from delivery to change your mind. See returns & withdrawal.
How do I look after the print?
Wash cold and inside out, skip the tumble dryer, and iron inside out on a low setting. The print softens gently with washing, like a well-loved book.
Which size should I take?
Our pieces are a unisex regular fit. Take your usual size, or one up for a relaxed look. Measurements are in the size guide.
How can I pay?
With Visa or Mastercard, through an encrypted checkout. We never see or store your card details.
